MHS Drama Scholarship

Every year the Drama Boosters fund two scholarships of $1,000 – one for a performer and one for a tech student. These awards go to students who have made a positive impact in our program during their time at MHS.

Application Process 

  • Students should fill out the application form
  • Include a professional theatre resume with experience, education & skills                                      
  • Attach your headshot or a recent snapshot to this resume
  • Include a 500 word essay or 2 minute video stating what you have gained from being a part of the MHS Theatre Program/Community                                                 
  • Include a letter of recommendations verifying work ethic and character.  
    • Recommendations should NOT come from relatives;
    • Recommendations cannot be from a theatre/tech teacher;
    • Recommendation MAY come from a manager/youth leader/teacher/faculty. 
  • During the interview, students should be prepared to showcase talent through a performance or presentation:
    • prepare two one-minute contrasting monologues or show a technical theatre portfolio (5 minutes). 
  • Have the application and all required materials submitted by May 11th 2026.  Your interview time and date will be set and mailed to you via email shortly thereafter. 

Scholarship Criteria 

  •  Recipient should be a Millbrook High School Senior. 
  •  Student should have at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average 
  •  Student should have at least 2 years of theatre experiences on resume                                                      
    • This may be community or experiences from other schools for students who have transferred to MHS  
  • During the senior year, student must participate in the theatre program in one of the following ways:  
    • Enrolled in a theatre class;
    • Participated in a main stage production (either on stage or backstage) 
  • Student must be a member of the Millbrook High School Drama Boosters (minimum membership $5) 
  • Scholarship may be awarded to two students from the same discipline if no suitable candidate is found for one of the awards.

Selection Committee Guidelines 

  • The selection committee will be made up of parents who are members of the Millbrook High School Drama Boosters, along with the theatre instructor and technical theatre instructor of MHS 
  •  Any parent who has a child that is applying for the scholarship should not participate in the selection committee. 
  •  The selection process shall be completed in time for the scholarship to be awarded to the student by the Drama/Theatre Awards Event and announced there. 

Award Distribution Process 

  The scholarship will be awarded as a certificate to the student 

 Scholarship payment will be made directly to school where student is attending 

 The scholarship must be used within one calendar year from date of award unless otherwise arranged with the Booster Club.
